Price For Quality

This rug arrived early and beautifully packed. When I rolled it out, it already laid flat. It is a beautiful color somewhere between taupe  and beige. It is a neutral rug and we’ll go with everything.  The fine weave and texture and fringe edges give it a little pizazz! Extremely soft under foot. It’s not plush so you might consider a rug pad, though I like the way it lays flat in my living room. I spent many weeks on websites and showrooms looking at rugs and this is about half the price of similar quality rugs I considered.

In love with this gorgeous rug, the color is perfect and the quality is amazing. Very soft feel.

This New Zealand Wool hand loomed rug hasn't been a home run. I choose the "Toffee" color. It is  warm and gently striated, which gives visual depth, and is just dark enough to no show dirt and contrast beautifully on our light wood floor. It is soft. It arrived within two weeks. All good so far. That said the weave on this rug isn't very tight and arrived with small tufts, or short strings of wool sticking up from the rug. I know wool sheds, and was prepared for weeks of vacuuming it, but these look like broken threads in the weave. They looked unsightly so I trimmed them down a bit. Hopefully more "strings" don't appear. Also the rug has a slight ripple on one end, which I hope relaxes. I paid $786 for this 9X6 area rug and frankly expected higher quality. I have purchased many items from Quince, including a dining table, nice bedding, cashmere, and home goods. This is the first item I am not completely pleased with; but I took a chance and returning would be too cumbersome. One more thing. My cats love it and because it's a looser weave I'm already living in fear they will have their way with it. So for what this rug cost, I think there are other wool alternatives out there that may be better. Time will tell if I love it or not. As I said this rug is beautiful but seems somewhat fragile. Depending on your situation you may love it. I hope this helps someone make a decision on this rug.
