Love this knife! Slices through bread like butter! 

Great bread knife

This knife came in solid packaging and was sharp right out of the box! Good balance and the damascus blade is appealing. I have a few Shun knives - this one is not quite that caliber of quality when you look at some of the finer details. But this cost one-third the price of a shun so I am very happy with the quality. 

One detail not specified in the product description is that this knife is single bevel, as many japanese blades tend to be. The edge and handle are both designed for the knife to be held in your right hand while using. For that reason I would not recommend this knife for left-handed people.

These knives work wonderfully-nice weight, very sharp. They seem to dull faster than I may have expected, but will likely just need to be more proactive on sharpening. Very happy with my purchase.

Essential Japanese Damascus Steel Knife Set

I was expecting the entire knife to be a little shorter. I knew it was an 8” blade and was initially concerned that it would be awkward to use when I saw the length of the handle, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s light enough to manipulate, even with smaller hands. I love not having to change knives to cut my tomatoes!. It works for everything!

This knife is a great investment. It is high quality, heavy and super sharp. It cuts through tomatoes and potatoes like it's butter. I'm very happy with this purchase. I would buy it in other sizes too if they would offer it.
